Fed by the Sabine river, the Toledo Bend Reservoir is located on the border of Texas and Louisiana just east of Hemphill. The reservoir covers about 185,000 acres. Common fish species include: Largemouth, White, Yellow, and Hybrid Striped Bass; Bowfin, Bigmouth and Smallmouth Buffalo, Black and Yellow Bullhead; Grass Carp; Blue, and Flathead Catfish; Black and White Crappie; Freshwater Drum (Gaspergou); Sunfish; and Warmouth. |
