Located two miles east of Whitney, Lake Whitney covers about 23,500 acres and is fed by the Brazos River and as well as numerous small creeks.

Fish species of interest to sport fisherman include: striped bass, white bass, largemouth bass, crappie, channel, blue, and flathead catfish.
