Fed by the Colorado and  many other area creeks,  Lake Travis is located ont the  northwest edge of Austin. The lake covers about 18,900 acres and was impounded in 1942.

Common fish species include: largemouth bass, Guadalupe bass, white bass, catfish, striped bass, sunfish.
