The Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife lists thirty- one fishing lakes in the Piney Woods region of Texas. This region is noted for white bass, black bass, catfish, and many other species of game fish. There are many fine facilities for fishing and camping, particularly on the larger lakes such as Livingston, Lake Fork, and Caddo. Resorts, bait shops, campgrounds, public and private boat launches are plentiful on these lakes.
